Yesterday I went on a trip to the garment district. This is part of my responsibilities at work since we design and manufacture in New York. Adding to the current ongoing wildness of the resort and fall/winter collections, we are doing a babies’ collection with the cutest kimono top that attaches at the chest with a cotton twill tape. So I dropped the patterns with sketches and fabric swatches for professional grading and marking on 36th St, wandering in and out almost every trimming shop nearby collecting color charts, samples, and asking for prices. It is always important to keep the cost within limit. If you like fashion, sewing, or DIY jewelries, this is a nice area that you could find treasure from. Shops I recommend are M&J, Sil Thread, Pacific Trimming, Steinlauf, Shindo and Mokuba.
The outfit of the day is white shirt paired with black pants, beige point toe flats, and an oversized gold chain necklace that gives you a hint of the 1960s. Just for a day, wear out your statement piece after being dazzled at work. And treat yourself with a scratching massage you can easily do at home! It helps to circulate and detox.
